Thanks for the tip.  I have many copper tubes that were removed from the '69
Safari and I'll see if they will fit the wiring.  In the cobwebs of my gray
matter I recall using tubing as  you suggest to construct a battery cable
for my motorcycle.  My motorcycle has a "T" shaped battery and I had a
typical square style battery.  I wanted to ride and mounted the square
battery on the sissy bar shelf.  Worked just fine, but looked like shi*.

I don't see a fuse or link in the line from battery to the starter; however,
there looks to be a fusible link in the line from the alternator to the
battery.  Good thing to keep in mind when I finally get the battery isolator
installed.  You can imagine that I have a serious problem finding room under
the hood of the van for installation of anything! :(  Just one more
rationale to nudge me to get a decent puller.  Sure hard to resist 0% and 60
months financing - though 80 months would certainly help stretch my annuity
a bit. :)

Yep, I have about a dozen barbeque tanks left over from my home brewing.  I
put them to use inside the Safari (caution) to run the Suburban furnace.
Had to take the chill off and the electric heater just didn't do the job.
Unfortunately, the blower motor developed a squeal and I have to pull it and
see if it can be repaired.  Haven't read any reports of others on the list
having success with replacing the bearings.  Have you?
