[A/S] '01 Duramax

we are looking at an '01 2500 HD Duramax 2wd, 79,000 miles
We need to know two things, if the '01's or early Durmax/Allison's have any 
issues, and #2 if the '01 model year had limited slip or LOCKING diff. Dealer 
tells us it's locking, but dealer also says that limited slip is traction 
control, so he really doesn't know his stuff.
Also looking at '94 Ford XLT w/ 60,000 milesthat was returned to dealer for 
engine problems, they were all fixed BUT was still returned to Ford......and 
has huge disclaimer on window,
We are looking at both trucks this coming week, so any info would be greatly 
appreciated.
