Dan, why don't you go to www.switchboard.com and find a supplier of 
fuel injection parts? They are the guys who supply garages with parts 
for the repair of diesel trucks. They may not want to give you a 
specific recommendation, but they'll certainly know which garages do a 
healthy business with them. That's a good starting point.

Up front, you know if you buy a diesel truck, you'll be looking for a  
garage in your local area anyway. You might as well find one with 
competent mechanics. I visited three garages before settling on mine.

Once I found the garage where I thought l'd feel good about doing 
business with them for the next many years, I spent $100  to have my 
truck evaluated.

Even though the guys in my performance shop are good at keeping my 
gasoline engine tow vehicles in top shape, they didn't feel qualified 
to work on my diesel truck. The ribbing I got for buying a diesel was 
merciless (good natured), but I'm pleased with this Suburban.

Today in our town, diesel fuel is 35 cents a gallon cheaper than 
gasoline. That doesn't hurt my feelings - especially with my Suburban 
getting 20-23 mpg highway driving. Obviously, I'm not a lead foot 
driver.
