Dan,

A friend of mine is a Chevy mechanic.  He owns an '01 2500HD 4WD with the
502cuin/Allison combo.  His rear is a locker.  His front is a limited slip.
He had issue with one of the shifting solenoids crapping out (3x).  Also had
some other part on the tranny fail from ice freeze.  Which each issue the
truck was still mobile in limp mode.

Otherwise it was the standard Chevy stuff, window regulators, and power seat
rails.
