Jim,

	Very true Jim!  However the light bulb operates at about 2500 degrees. 
We only want to operate the heater at a little over 200 degrees.  We can
consider a resistor linear over this range.  We really do not want our
refrigerator to glow in the dark.  In an absorption refrigerator, we are
only trying to boil water.
	Maybe I should rephrase the note to be "the resistance should be 60
ohms at operating temperature".
