I was planning on that. Also, I think I'll put an indicator in the same
location I'm planning on putting the instruments for power monitoring.

That makes sense. Do you like light bulbs better than test lamps?

Yeah. I think I'm going to switch it over to 12V, since that will be
native power while on the road.

I'm using #8 wire, and I noticed when I picked up the trailer, the
battery condition was "Fair" on the meter the PO installed in the
bathroom (!!). When I stopped the first night, it was "Good" and has
remained so. I'll check to see how many volts it has on it with the
DMM. Anyway, I think I am charging it. I'm also looking for a
higher-output alternator since the combination of the trailer, my in-car
goodies (cell phone, laptop w/ inverter, GPS), lights, and wipers was
problematic on the trip home from acquiring the Globetrotter.

Where did you get this? The other thing I like about relays (I don't
know if I mentioned it, but my original idea was to use relays for
battery isolation) is that they don't have the heat issues that the
isolators have. We had to place my isolator in a vent on top of the
"wing" (that's fender to us colonials) so that it had sufficient air
flow.

I, too, am a strong believer in fuses and breakers. I got this from
replacing the wiring harness (after a disaster) in my '65 Land Rover
:-).

I have now tested the lights while on shore power, and they are, indeed,
12VDC.
