It may be something just as simple as the plug to the converter becoming 
"unplugged". I rooted around in the locker for an hour trying to see what 
the reason was that the battery wasn't charging and accidentally nudged the 
plug, whereupon the converter started up, with all it's little green lights.
By the way, the converter doesn't have to run continuously to charge the 
battery, just long enough to charge the battery. In our trailer we sleep 
right above the locker where the converter is and it hums merrily away. Some 
time ago the trophy wife complained that noisy thing was ruining her beauty 
sleep.
I went to Canadian Tire and bought a remote on/off switch. It is usually 
used for turning off Christmas lights outside, without having to trod the 
deep and crisp and even. I installed the plug end in the outlet and the 
converter plug in the plug in. I glued the handset onto the control panel 
just below the gauge that shows how much charge is on the battery. When it 
get fully charged, I push the button and shut off the power to the 
converter, without having to go outside, open the locker door and pull the 
plug.
Keeps the black flies off me and the beauty sleep uninterupted. My trailer 
guy though had a really tough time figuring out what that little black box 
was glued to the control panel!
