Re: [A/S] Don't SALT your black tanks....
my guess is ... that you have probably created more awareness of the very
concept, with your one post than would dump stations posting signs all over the
USA for 50 yrs warning RVers to NOT dump salted effluent. every time I reply,
in an attempt to educate people as to why they should NOT do so, it merely
reinforces your (imho) superbly, bad idea. and yes, that is a compliment to
Hunter's list membership levels - both AS and SOB
re... the embalmers tinctures for the black tanks...
Happily, the movement to ban the use of formaldehyde is increasing and hopefully
may reach the point that Carbon Tet reached 30 or so years ago.
Carbon tet was a horribly, terrible carcinogen and they are finding that
formaldehyde (already banned from carpets, wall boards, insulation, etc) is
every bit as bad a carcinogen. Certainly equal to chlorine. Finally,
formaldehyde is a volatile and will escape to the atmosphere, both inside and
outside the trailer. I prefer to NOT treat my tank at all other than with a
package of enzymes which I use for my septic tank. the two tanks are quite
similar in function, but differ hugely in size.
re my rants...
I always enjoy comparing my similar number of years of AS ownership to your
letters, messages and so on, Charlie. Please keep them coming....
