[A/S] 1982 chevy suburban 3/4 ton 2wd 6.2l diesel???

hello group, 

  i have been considering a different tow vehicle. a neighbor of mine that 
is a retired naval officer and very trust worthy has a 1982 c20 chevy suburban 
2wd w/ 6.2l diesel engine. it looks great and runs well. a little rust spot or 
two. i have not really given it a complete inspection because i don't want to 
get his hopes up. it has 68,000 miles on it!!! i am sure of that.  i fact, i 
bought my 1976 argosy 28' from him and i got a very good deal. 

what is your opinion of this vehicle? engine? kelly blue book only goes back 
to 1984.    thanks, i look forward to hearing your opinions. he said he'd sell 
it to me for $2500.  jeff.
