Ed,

The only plug throughs I have seen for clamp ons are 2 wire, which while OK 
for a quick test are not the optimum for leaving plugged in while the trailer 
is in use.  Of course the plug throughs are available for DMMs, but the DMMs 
themselves typically are only good for 10 amps.

Why not just fabricate a short "extension" cord with a hinge cover box in the 
middle to make the breakout readily accessible, yet still safe?
