Re: [A/S] Yikes! Wiring, rewiring, grounding...Please advise

Mary,
It's my understanding that A/S used aluminum wiring only in the late
60s, so your trailer SHOULD have copper. In any event, it's easy to
check by pulling an outlet and looking at the wire.

If it were me, I'd look at 2 approaches to the ungrounded outlets:

Replace all outlets, and connect a pigtail from the ground connection to
the aluminum skin adjacent to the receptacle. Although not 'to code', it
sure seems to me that it'd be sufficient for safety.

Or, leave most of the receptacles 'as is', and install a new one or 2
where you actually NEED grounding. IE: the kitchen. Run new wiring from
them back to the breaker box, using wire with a ground conductor. You
don't really have to worry about the receptacles where you're only going
to plug in a light or cell phone charger.
