Susan,
 Get the 4.10 installed and go for it, the rest of the vehicle should be
fine. You'll have a problem with the speedometer/odometer, but that's
easily fixed with a new drive gear in the transmission. (cheap and easy
to isntall)

The "rear end gear" IS "the differential".
