Unfortunately, with the electronically controlled refers of today you 
cannot assume the refer does not use electricity. Any of the refer's 
that has a push button control panel uses 12V, approximately
.5A per hour.
While you may well have been thinking 110V when you talked about 
electricity, that small 12V drain adds up to another load a solar system 
has to deal with.
