Hunter is absolutely right about that. 

But every motorhome has a generator. So, in addition to the weight
and balance problems, I guess the concern is about after market
installations that would not be properly sealed from fumes - an
important and genuine concern. 

We have been back and forth between tailoring and motor homing three
times now in the 40 years we have been RVing. And the issue always
comes back to the lack of a generator in a trailer. 

In the MH we never sleep with the generator running. We won't even
sleep with the gas furnace running. But there are times when the
lack of a generator takes the joy out of RVing for us. If you don't
live in the deep south with constant high heat and humidity it may
sound trivial. But for us it is not.

I have not yet made up my mind about how I will do this, however, at
the moment I am leaning toward a small unit installed in the bed of
the truck. I drive a Cummins diesel truck, so I would prefer the
3.3K Robins diesel that Jim told us about. Diesel is efficient and
dependable but a Honda would be much quieter. I am trying to get a
commitment out of the Robin people about a definitive decibel
rating.

I bought the current trailer because it was a bargain and it fell my
lot to rescue it. It is a 1994 30' Excella that is very nice inside
but needing stripping and recoating outside.  If I can solve the
generator problem, we will keep it. If not, we still have our 82
turbo diesel MH which we have not yet decided to sell.
