I am considering letting the natural oxidation of the raw aluminum form "nature's protective coating" for a while. I understand that good quality aluminum will oxidize to a relatively uniform sheen that just stays that way for extremely long periods. This is not like rust which continues to oxidize until it destroys the full depth of the metal. Anybody have first hand on this? Bob Kiger
