Jim, don't remove the remaining clearcoat unless you want to be waxing her
every other day for the rest of your life! The aluminum oxidizes and turns
to a dull grey, then white, then turns blackish. Ugly! Either leave it
alone, or have it stripped and reapplied. Polishing uncoated aluminum is a
hard and time consuming job that never ends.
