[A/S] mattress suggestions

We have a wonderful 1970 Land Yacht with the original twin mattresses.  
They are clean and in very good shape, considering the age, but I have 
back problems and wake up very stiff.  Would anyone suggest getting 
memory foam mattress pads or put that money on new mattresses?  Any 
other suggestions or recommendations on where to purchase mattresses
