Bill.
I do not know what California spells out for a load equalizing hitch.
But I do know, that most any Airstream or Argosy trailer must be
towed using them.
Basically, there are two important reasons for doing so. Most owners,
readily agree that a load equalizing hitch is mandantory.
First of all, it's for the safety of the owner and his family.
Secondly, should someone lose control of their rig and cause personal
or property damage, watch the attorneys have a field day with you.
It's a proven fact, that load equalizing hitches are a must. If
someone choses not to use one, then they are risking the safety of
themselves, their family, and also possibly some innocent victim.
We must tow with a high degree of responsibilty, not only to
ourselves, but to others as well.
That being the case, towing most Airstream or Argosy trailers without
a load equalizing hitch, is irrefutably irresponsible.
Carelessness has no room with safety.
Safety can "NEVER" be ignored, or compromized.
Those that do, will ultimately will pay the penality.
