[A/S] Generator

I've been reading all your good info about generators. Have enjoyed the
discussion. I've heard these little Honda generators run and they make a sweet
sound. However, bear with me while I think out loud.

I've had the amp meter on my A/C and I know it's happy running on 12.5 amps.
If you do the math, 12.5 amps equates to 1500 watts. It's kind of hard to
know exactly what a starting load would be on my amp meter, because it's a
momentary surge. But if you assumed maybe it was about 50% more, you're not too
far off from being able to start this thing on a 2000 watt. So now we're
looking at about 2300 watts, which may be past the surge limit on this generator?
Another thing that occurred to me, when you turn the air on it seems as though
the compressor and blower come on together. If you had a separate control for
the blower, like a toggle switch, you could turn that on after the compressor
does its thing. You might be able to get there with 2000 watts.

Just a thought.
