[A/S] Just Curious

Hi All - not an AS owner yet - my husband and I are in the process of 
doing our homework, plus looking at Surburbans - which we are 
purchasing in the next year.  We think we would like to get a 25' or 
28' AS and are hoping to try to get one in the 1980's or early 
1990's.  Any suggestion on preferable years and reason?  What I'm 
curious about is we would like to get one with a permanent bed - what 
year did this start?  Also, why is it so many have twin beds = it 
seems like everyone you see for sale has them instead of the offered 
double?  Just wondering?  Any info would be appreciated.  Beyond 
getting past the sticker shock, we are aiming for the Quadrasteer on 
the Surburban.
