Hi MaryAnn,

One reason for choosing twin beds is they provide more area per person
than a double bed.  As Gary noted, the AS full size bed is slightly
narrower than a standard 54" full size bed and is 74" long, for a per
person space of slightly less than 27" by 74".  The twin mattresses in
our AS are 33" wide by 79" long.  They provide more room than
even a standard queen size bed at 60"x80".  For a large
and/or tall
person, the comfort difference could be significant.
