Herb - My 2002 F250 PSD is loud, mostly from the outside but you can also
hear it from inside the cab. The newer diesels from all the major auto
manufacturers are MUCH quiter than mine. Part of the sound concern that I've
noticed is just predjudice - lots of folks just seem to have a dislike for
diesels, and can focus on sound only to try to make their point. But you'll
never find a better puller for your trailer, ESPECIALLY if you go for a
longer wheelbased 4-door model. Suggest you make a point of letting your
spouce listen to a few older model diesels, then go for a test drive of the
newer ones. She may loose her point of contention. Let us know what you
decide on.
