Patti,
I will first chime in and voice our satisfaction with the McKesh mirrors,
they are great. 

As for the whistling noise, I have found that it is a factor of how TIGHT
you make the web strap. I have also found that the strap sometimes buzzes if
not adequately tightened.   I have found that even when I have them tighten
adequately to stop the whistle during dry conditions, I sometimes have to
tighten them a bit more when the get wet (suspect the water acts as a
lubricate allowing the nylon web to stretch a bit).  

This may not be the factor in your situation, but it is what we have
discovered with ours.
