David & All - I fully agree with what you said, but I always tightened them
as much as I could and still had the whine. Finally just quit putting them
on and settled for the F-250's extendable mirrors, which are only just
acceptable in that I'm only barely comfortable that I know when to pull back
into the slow lane after passing. But would love the better view that the
McKesh give. Maybe I'll go to Wally World and buy the fake sheep skins that
are for the seat belts and put them on the straps  that touch the skin of
the truck. That should stop the buzzing. All in all, great mirrors. I feel
like Dumbo going down the road, but I like the rear view.
