Re: [A/S] Re: Proud new parents!! (Towing Mirrors)
I agree with Richard on the McKesh mirrors. I wanted to add that I have the
optional small, convex mirrors on my McKesh mirror set. They add some to the
field of view, and they are wort the extra cost (IMHO). I have seen this
mirror set installed on the fender of cars and trucks, but this may not be an
option for your van. I attach mine to the door and on my 2002 2500HD pickup it
works very well. I would think that yours could also be installed on your door.
I have had my McKesh mirrors since I bought the truck new in late 2001 and
they do not make any noise. There is some minor vibration, but not enough to
obscure the view or be an annoyance. The McKesh mirror URL is:

I do not know if your GM van had a towing mirror option, but one is available
on the pickup. In 2002 the mirror was extended by pulling it out from the
truck. I heard negative comments about this design. In 2003 GM went to an
electrically extended mirror. I have heard good comments about this design. It
is also available from the manufacturer as an aftermarket item.
