Thanks for the responses, and FYI, I was rotating the drum while 
tightening the nut.

Just to keep expenses down, I don't plan on replacing any bearings or 
races unless I see any damage.  However, I am replacing all cotter 
pins and the grease seals.

Durng my road test I planned on leaving the wheel covers (not to be 
confused with the dust caps) off so I can periodically stop and feel 
the hubs for excessive heat.  I may also be out long enough (50 
miles) to check lug nut torque as well, so another reason for easy 
access.
