I tested a hot rod once by having it out of the unit and and submerging it
in water up to the threads, then I plugged it in(I used a Glass container)
and soon I was watching tjhe water bubble, steam etc. unplugged it, then
installed it, it would not work so I tested the 110v line and it was dead,
turned out to be a Bad 110v Receptacle.replaced and works fine.Good Luck....
