Re: [A/S] Where to begin

Hi Paul, and welcome.
I'm dreaming of streaming in MA, near Boston, and i HAVE one. Damn snow.

I don't know of a one source place for all that info.

I think first you should think about what you want it for, how many ?
how far ? boondocking or full hook ups. Then you should think about
what kind of maintenance/repair/restoration you really like to do.

Next question is size. A 34' trailer needs a big suburban or a big
pickup, and as the owner of a 29'er,pulled by a stretchbed king cab I
can tell you it is a serious rig to drive. Big will give you more space
but less maneoverable. Full timers like the long ones, weekenders like
the littler ones.

I think floor plan is everything. Go to an RV show and bounce on all the
beds and see what you think.

Some things: pre 1973 have no gray water tank. Some years of longer ones
with rear bath have droopy butts from full tanks and bumpy roads.
Nearly all old ones will have floor rot somewhere. I have a cookie year
and it's just fine !

Beware of the rip it all out and do it over trap. Lots of folks start
that and run out of gas and or $ pretty soon, there are some cheap
trailers availble that have suffered that. If you come to VT you will
see all kinds of trailers in every state of repair. Don't miss the
vintage open house, I'll be waiting for you !
