We have just replaced the carpet in our '89 Excella 29' and it is not a bad 
idea as far as we are concerned. We went to a carpet store and their carpet 
layer agreed to replace the carpet on a Saturday, his day off. We put in a 
nice looking berber roll end with pad and covered all of the floor plus the 
walls up to the windows in the bedroom. Total cost was less than $300, not 
bad at all. Now the floors are warm, soft and the trailer is nice and 
quite. Also the bedroom has the added insulation to cold and noise.  The 
amount of carpet is small, so cleaning is easier than your house if you 
have one.
