[A/S] '73 Argosy
Off to Virginia to see a '73 Argosy on Sunday, weather
permiting. I am told this unit is in good condition, mostly
original, and that the air makes a LOT of noise and does not cool,
but that otherwise it is fine. It has newer tires, with only 120
miles on them, but has been sitting for some time, at a campground.
Would it be towable, with appropriate hitch, with a six cylinder
Ford Ranger XLT Extended Cab? I am only thinking in terms of getting
it back to WV, not using that vehicle as it's main tow vehicle.
I understand it has a front couch that converts to a larger bed,
and there is a single bed/couch in the rear after the kitchen, and
then the bath of course. Is this configuration a desireable one? I
have been unable online to find pictures of this configuration,
though I did find the plan on one site, but it serves for both the
mid twin and the one like this one.
The unit need not be moved until later in the season, as it is
stored in a secure area, though I admit I would be ITCHING to get it
home and play with it.
ANY advice would be appreciated on assessing it's value, towing
such a trailer, (all I have pulled is a large pop up Palamino
camper), and I am told this one weighs 3610 dry, trouble spots to
look for, etc.
I would also be very grateful if anyone has pictures of a
similar unit they could mail, or knows of a URL to reach such
pictures.
Thank you all in advance,
Walt Price III
