[A/S] Re: '99 Safari roof - Seal Tech System
The system you are speaking of is called a Seal-Tech and works
reasonably well. We have had one for about 2 years now and it has
paid for itself many times over when looking for hard to find leaks.
It is most effective on non laminated conventional trailers. It only
finds Airstream leaks about 40% of the time. It will not produce
enough pressure to do damage.
On an Airstream the seams and most of the rivits are sealed on the
inside of the shell so when you pressurize from the inside I think it
pushes the opening closed almost like a one way valve. Thats my
theory anyway.
On your Safari have you sealed all the rivits on the top of the end
segments and the back edge of the roof sheet? You do this with some
of the Airstream plasticoat so you do not see any sealer on the
trailer. If you have a six sleeper we have had some problems with
the back windows?
