  Don't forget that those tanks don't hold as much as you indicate, your 
numbers are gross capacity, not net. It takes about 6 gallons to fill a 
30# tank, probably about 8 for a 40#'er.

I'd guess that it wouldn't have to be below zero for the furnace to run 
continously. And, while the tanks themselves might not freeze, the dump 
valves probably will, and at a higher temperature than you might think.
