yep - that's the Henschen 'Dura-Torque' axle... the offset ends or 'torsion
arms' will start to ride lower when the rubber band gets tired. Up until a
couple of years ago, Henschen would replace the rubber band... now i think
they have to sell you a new axle tube, or a whole axle. Henschen is still
located in Jackson Center, near the Airstream plant. Airstream led the way
in using the dura-torque axle in the sixties... nowadays they're used almost
universally in all types of trailers - a very elegant engineering concept.
I'd contact the folks at Henschen, or at Airstream, and see what they can do
for you.
