  Hi, 
If the tire is and has been rubbing on the wheel well you have 
  A...  too large of a tire
  B...  the axle has shifted (broke or loose axle mounts, bolts)
  C...  The rubber compression sleave is damaged allowing axle shift
   
  At any rate, you need to get the trailer to a trailer dealer. It 
doesn't have to be an AS dealer. This axle design is used on many 
ordinary utility trailers. They will know what to look for. If the 
axle is bad they or you will have to replace it with a Dura Torque 
from AS.  Good luck from Arnie and "Home on the range"
