Re: [A/S] Fw: questions from a new AS owner

Hi Don,

You know how free opinions are, worth what they cost! However, did you say
that you have the service manual?

I buy most of my parts, if possible, from Camping World and I'm a member of
the Presidents Club that gives a pretty good discount - pays for the
membership with the first purchase and saves $$s there after.

I think most will tell you that Sureflo is the way to go, but think
seriously about something like a compensator tank that reduces the pump
operation. Well, I might have the wrong name, but it is a tank.

Your univolt could be used as a stand alone and the unused fuses should be
for Circuit 1, 2, 3, etc. Mine had 4 circuits and identified the color
wire. If you have another DC fuse panel, the distribution fuses there
protect the system. The 40/50 amp fuses that connect the main lines (both +
and -) can blow if there's a large load on the circuits and the battery is
connected/disconnected. However, listen to the fuses as it could be a
short, like the burned wires in the ceiling fixture. Try removing all of
the circuit fuses. Then replace each and observe. When the main blows, you
got the circuit to look into. The service manual will give you the color
of the circuit wire and what it powers.

Like you, I retired after 33 years of toil for USDA. Not a lot of $$s and
it's steadily decreasing due to increased fees for Medicare and other
expenditures I don't understand? Guess this is why my Safari is my business
office! :)

Hope this helps resolve some of your questions.
