Todd, I can offer two suggestions: (1) check to see that the seat cushion
part of the gaucho is pushed back all the way and secured. On my ' 68
Tradewind, there are wood "catches" attached to the sliding rails. (2) Check
to see that there is a piece of plywood inside the back of the backrest
cover for support. If that plywood support is missing, the relatively soft
foam could squeeze under the backrest shelf allowing the backrest to slip
under the shelf.
