I have a 1959 Tradewind A/S and the S/N is on a plate waist high just 
infont of the door on the outside, I saw a 1950 about one month ago, 
same place.

I would venture that if it is not here someone has removed it. 
 
Check for evidence of rivet holes infont of the door.  

My trailer also has a factory "Lifetime Warrantee Certificate" glued 
to the inside of a closet door.   This Certificate contains the 
wiring color codes and the SERIAL NUMBER.
