1. No, and no: learn to enjoy it. (like all Diesels, it'll be
especially noisy when the engine and/or air temp is cold)
2. See #1 above
3. If the W2S light didn't come on, it probably wasn't needed. Mine
DOES come on when the temperature is below 60 (cold engine), so I wait
and add some throttle when cranking. It starts right up, down to at
least 10 degrees. (that's the coldest I've experienced) The manifold
heaters (there's 2) come on only when the W2S light is illuminated.
After starting, they'll cycle on and off until the engine begins to warm
up, usually several minutes. You can hear the load on the engine and see
the voltmeter dip each time the heaters energize.
