You can usually insure a vintage [car, trailer, motorcycle, whatever] 
for a STATED value. That is, you'll have the unit appraised, based on 
its condition, and get a policy for that value. One problem is, the 
insurance company is writing and pricing a policy based on "market 
value", and you're asking them to pay off on a much larger amount. You 
really can't blame them for kicking a bit.
