Well, you have better hope no one ever hits you and totals your Airstream!!

Especially if it is a model older than 1986, which is how far back the NADA guides set 
a value on Airstreams.

Our insurance company, GEICO, takes the position that it makes no difference whether 
your Airstream has been recently re-carpeted, re-upholstered, rock guards, aluminum 
wheels added, new propane bottles and cover, furnace upgraded, or 3 awnings added.

They want to give you the same price as an Airstream that has been basically gutted 
and left in a state of disrepair since the day it was purchased.  They don't believe 
that Airstreams don't depreciate like cars.

If we ever settle with the insurance company, we are seriously thinking about buying a 
newer Airstream.  You can't afford to put $18,000 into a trailer, then take $8,000 for 
it from the insurance company.
