Hi, Your problem may be your insurance company. When I insured our 78 
AS, we were allowed to insure it for what ever value we wanted. We 
just pay so much a thousand for our coverage. In the event of a 
claim, they pay full coverage for repairs up to the amount of 
coverage we bought,not what someone feels it is worth.  This is the 
same kind of coverage as we might buy for a restored classsic car or 
other special property. This insurance is not expensive. Had your 
trailer been covered like that, you would be getting full payment for 
your trailer. And I don't sell insurance. Good luck folks. Arnie
