Hi -

At the present time the FCC will only allow 2-way satellite to be installed
at a permanent site and I don't think that will change any time soon. (I do
have 2-way satellite at home and I'm really pleased with it.)

But there was some very interesting stuff in yesterday's NY Times about cell
phone technology
(http://www.nytimes.com/2002/02/14/technology/circuits/14FUTU.html).
According to the article I should be able to check my email (using my Sprint
cell phone) at speeds from 40 to 60 kilobits by this summer. That's
comparable to most landlinked modems.
