I haven't purchased any yet but apparently most, possibly all, propane or
propane appliance dealers can retrofit our existing bottles.  I don't
remember the exact price I was quoted but it was modest.  I was considering
having a pair of original A/S aluminum bottles updated a few months ago.
One day, when filling bottles just prior to a trip, I inquired at the local
dealer who fills my bottles.  I became concerned when I was advised about
the possibility of my valued and valuable original Airstream cylinders being
damaged and possibly rendered useless in the process.

For those who have regular steel cylinders it may be easier to simply
purchase new cylinders or exchange old outdated cylinders for the new one
with OPD valves already filled with propane.
