I have a BD exhaust brake, I wouldn't want to tow in the mountains without 
it. I think they are a necessity for the diesel engine.

That said, I would go with the factory brake...over the aftermarket one. Why? 
Because Ford will have to honor their engine warrantee with the aftermarket 
one.... not sure what kind of hassle you would get with an aftermarket one.
