Your Michelin tires are actually "Light truck" tires and are a fair bit
better than the standard Marathon trailer tires. They have a lot less
rolling resistance and a smaller contact patch: hence less friction. Other
benefits are a taller sidewall which lends the Airstream a much more
cushioned ride. Unfortunately, they just went out of production. The good
news is both Bridgestone and Yokohama make a high quality 7.00 X 15.00 light
truck tire which can be considered for replacement. I've towed both a 31 and
a 34 skinned with XCAs tens of thousands of miles and couldn't be happier
with their performance.
