Re: [A/S] waste water valve problems

OK, here's what happens in my '73.

The black water tank sits under the toilet and gets only what goes down
that hole. There is a valve at the bottom of this tank that you can open
with the T handle, by pulling it out.

There is NO grey water tank. The line from the kitchen sink and the
bathroom sink and tub line come into the dump hole BELOW the valve to
the black water, and there is no valve for it. In those days of yester
year, grey water could just go on the ground in most places. Which makes
sense as it is quite harmless.

So: Scene 1, you are at a campground with full hook up:
You attach the 3" hose to the dump hole and put the other end in the
ground and leave the T valve SHUT. Your grey water goes into the ground
and the poop stays in the tank. When the poop tank is full, you open the
T valve and dump that, run some water through, close the valve and put
poop tank stuff down the toilet and let it have a gal. or so to keep
wet.

Scene 2: You are at a campgound with only water and electric. You hook
up a blue tank to a hose attached to a special cover for the dump hole.
Your grey water goes into the blue tank to be taken to the dump and
emptied. Your poop stays in the poop tank and when it is full, tow the
trailer to the dump station and dump it, rinse it, etc and close the
valve again.

A bad thing is to leave the black tank valve open or dump it too often,
because then you get a little Himmalaya range of poop and TP in there
that is dried on. Drive around with a bag of ice cubes and water in
there and keep it wet.

If you have a solid cap on the dump hole, the grey water can't get out
and will back up into the tub.

Aint this sfun ?
