Your waste tank dump valve should be accessible by dropping a hinged
aluminum skin panel residing under the street side of the rear bumper. If
you have full travel of the dump valve handle you should feel resistance
appropriate to a rubber gasket sliding against the pvc housing as you move
it
I don't think your '72 was originally factory equipped with a gray water
tank. You should have only one tank: a black water or sewer waste tank.
Gray water was originally piped into the discharge fitting downstream of the
waste tank valve but upstream of the cap. If the dump valve is closed
securely, black and gray water should not mix but with the cap on the end of
the drain connection there is no gray water tank capacity. Any sink,
lavatory, or bath tub use will back up into the lowest point which is the
bath tub.
