Re: [A/S] waste water valve problems

Steve,

I always recommend purchasing the service manual from Secretarial Services.
Hopefully someone on the list can give you the phone number. The $70 is
well worth the expense.

The other reverence is Bob Livingston's RV Repair & Maintenance Manual.

With regard to your problem, it seems that things are working as they
should? With the dump valve closed and a cap on the outlet, all water will
fill the drain lines and eventually flow into the tub as it is the lowest
entry. Leave the black water gate closed and replace the end cap with one
that has a hose connection and a length of hose. The gray water can be
dumped as required for your location.

When it's time to dump the black water, remove the adapter cap and hook up
the dump hose. Then, open the gate and the black water should run out.
Rinsing the tank might be appropriate. Close the black water gate. If you
are traveling, put the closed cap on the outlet. If you are dumping gray
water, use the adapter cap with the hose.

Me thinks you have created a problem . . . you just haven't got the hang
of how to use the system.
