Ok Jim,

I responded before reading other responses which should be helpful
to you.  A simple way to adjust sheen is to use 0000 steel wool with
an oil (Minwax Natural will work) to lubricate it which will move it
from a glossy to semi-gloss or satin.  Use 0000 steel wool DRY to
step it down to a mat finish with very little sheen.
