Our '66 Trade Wind has a metal shroud around the burner assembly that appears to be an after thought. I needed service work and the Safari repair center didnt think it was "stock" and has been there for years. It's such a great idea, that if it were me, I'd do it. Bob :) Reno '72 F-250
